THE TENT
Our Glamping tent is made of the highest quality material, well insulated for warmth in the winter, and have large windows for the cooling summer breeze. Designed for comfort and luxury, reset your senses with a relaxing shower, toast marshmallows on an open campfire, or simply sit on the deck with a good book and heavenly glass of wine while the sun sets.

OFF-GRID CONSIDERATIONS
Bring a cooler for keeping items cold. There is a Dollar General on 131 and on the other side of Clinch Mountain for getting ice.

There are flashlights and lanterns inside the tent as well as string lighting and path lighting outside. We keep a generator under the deck for things like coffee machines and running fans.

For showering, we have an on-demand tankless propane shower hooked up to a 275 gallon water supply tank. And for when duty calls, we utilize a camp-style bucket with toilet seat and fresh plastic bags to handle waste. Wood chips and a scoop help eliminate any unpleasant odors.

We provide firewood kindling and S’mores which are located in the tent. There is a small campfire grate for cooking on. Also, while we do try to minimize bug life with area pest control treatments, we recommend you keep tent screens closed as much as possible and bring bug spray for added comfort and protection.

We can meet you at check-in as we do live on the property.

Check in window is between 4-9pm. Please do not arrive early as your tent will not be ready until 4pm. Check out time is 10am.

Parking is limited to one vehicle per tent. If you must bring more then one, please make arrangements with us prior to your arrival.

THERE IS NO WIFI // LIMITED CELL PHONE RECEPTION
However, we do have limited cell reception for Verizon and Sprint phone carriers. If you have any other cell service, you can get enough signal by walking up the hill 5 minutes past our property line.

COOKING ON TENT DECKS IS PROHIBITED

Also, please clean up any spills, especially sugary drinks, promptly. These can create a mold issue that is incredibly difficult to eradicate. It may also invite unwanted critters into the tent.

This experience puts you up close and personal with nature. There are all kinds of critters that you may encounter, big and tiny, 2 Legged, 4 Legged, 8 Legged, Centi Legged. It’s bear country, coyote country, bird country, insect country, etc..... its all part of the experience. Inside the tents are 99% bug free, but even the cleanest of homes still have crawlers and fliers.

Thorn Hill is located in quiet Hancock County. As you meander down 131 heading towards our site, you’ll pass by cows and horses grazing on pastured land in the valley. If you decide to leave camp during the day, you’re close to many great adventures nearby that can be found with Google or Apple maps.

Having your own vehicle is a must. Be careful when leaving the property. Hug the corner of the entrance to our site to avoid getting stuck in loose gravel. If this ever happens and you cannot get out and you have no cell service, you can walk up hill where our tent is and about 10 minutes past our property line, there is enough cell range to make calls and send messages.
