Just 0.3 miles from the hustle and bustle of Union Station, our stunningly restored English basement feels like an oasis from the city. Fabulous floor plan, beautiful brickwork & luxury furnishings make for a stress free vacation in the heart of DC!
The Space:
Our spacious English basement apartment can comfortably sleep six guests in two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a darling button tufted queen sized bed, and there is a queen in the second bedroom (complete with a charming bay window)! There is a queen sized sofa bed in the living area for an additional two guests.
Topped off with all modern amenities and our stunning "farmhouse style" kitchen; guests can cook for two or twenty and enjoy the apartment's interactive layout.
While we can’t guarantee parking, some guests have had luck getting temporary permits from neighboring police stations. Guests would need to bring their trip itinerary with their full name, dates of stay, and street address of the residence.
This is at the discretion of the police stations however, and cannot be guaranteed.
We also provide excellent resources and coupon codes for finding nearby garages at the cheapest rates.
Guest Access:
The unit is not shared. Guests will have access to the entire home along with their own entrance.
There is a family living upstairs. Please note that the everyday sounds and noises of family life (footsteps, stairs, kids playing, etc.) can be heard in both directions. You will undoubtedly hear them (and they will hear you) as they go about their everyday life.
The Neighborhood:
Just outside of your door lies the vibrant Capitol Hill neighborhood! Congress Market, Union Kitchen Grocery and more are a short stroll from the residence, including the iconic Eastern Market (not to be missed)!
TONS of DC's most sought after restaurants line the streets - ranging from German, Mexican, French and American - picky eaters should have no issue finding favorites. The neighborhood comes alive at night! With an array of bars, clubs and restaurants, folks can experience the the neighborhood in a totally different light once the sun goes down!
The home is nestled on a quiet tree lined street; so escaping the hustle and bustle of the H St Corridor is a non-issue.

Getting Around:
WALK to the United States Capitol in less then 15 minutes! Just two blocks up Massachusetts Ave is DC's hub of activity, Union Station, where you can catch the Red Line Metro. There lay the major sights as well as tons of shops, restaurants and more. Downtown DC is a short metro ride away, be on the White House lawn in 20 minutes!
